As a school, we are continually trying to push to become a healthy school.
Whilst the children are in EYFS and Key Stage 1, they are provided with a healthy snacks such as carrots, bananas, apples, tomatoes and other seasonal fruits and vegetables. Once the children reach Year 3, this snack from the government stops.
Therefore, the children can choose to bring in a healthy snack to eat at break time if they wish too. We recommend a piece of fruit such as a small orange, a banana, apple, pear etc They can take this outside with them during break time to eat.
Can I please take this opportunity to remind you that we are a nut free school and there shouldn’t be any nuts bought into school for snacks, lunches or birthday treats.
Any questions, please speak to a member of leadership or your child’s class teacher.
What’s your favourite healthy snack? I love munching on a crunchy carrot!
Many thanks for your support,
Mrs Davison
