Learning how to present a theme as a piece of artwork

Year 5 will be learning about Shakespeare’s Macbeth this half term, as part of their new English unit. The children have enjoyed watching parts of the play, and will be exploring the different themes throughout the play. Today the children created some brilliant art work to express the themes in Macbeth.

    My favourite character is Macbeth as he was a really good fighter and liar.

    The key themes are power, betrayal and murder.

    2. Which character is your favourite and why?
    My favourite character is McDuff and MacBeth for McDuff because he worked he knew something was suspicious from the start. And MacBeth was a good person until Lady Macbeth persuaded him into murdering, but both felt guilty and realised their mistakes.

    3. What themes does your art work represent?
    My art work represents power as in the crown and the witches cauldron. Then murder represents the blood and dagger.

    2.My favourite character was Lady Macbeth because she was ruthless and really ambitious to make Macbeth king but later felt so guilty she killed herself.
