  1. 1. I learnt a new author and in the Windrush it was hot but people there were racist to black people.

    2. The book i was learning was the story of the Windrush and the author was Kandace Chimbiri.

The skills i used to write a poem was that i wrote in any tense and i could put any colloquiums any were i like this is because Benjamin Zephaniah does any way he like because he is writing the poem no any one else It was very fun because it wasn’t hard you could basically do what ever you like thats why we wrote only in 15 mins.BY YUSSUF BENJAMIN ZEPHANIAH BY YUSSUF

    2. My favourite part of the book is When Lord Kitchiner sings London is a place for me.

    3. The skill I have learnt is the Windrush full name is the Empire Windrush.

    3. My favourite part of the project week was when we wrote a letter.

  6. My favorite part was learning about Benjamin zephaniah because he is a big influence to kids who Want to become poets or vegans let your dreams shine

  7. 1. I learned to be more confident (Im already confident but i learned to speak louder)
    2. We learned about a book called “The Story Of Windrush” and it told us about racism and Windrush.
    The authors name is K.N. Chimbiri.
    3. My favourite part was when we did drama.

  9. What I did in year 4 was that we learned about was an author called
    K.N. Chimbiri and who she is she is the author of Black history books for children. Her books are “Secrets of the Afro” and “The story of Windrush. K.N Chimbiri was born in London, England in 1968. She has worked with the V&A on Contemporary Kushite Kings and Queens (part of the Staying Power project in 2011).She has given talks for adults and for children on African history as well as tours on African Artefacts in the British Museum, the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology and the V&A. K.N Chimbiri founded her small publishing house Golden Destiny Ltd in 2009. Golden Destiny specialises in non-fiction titles for children, in particular Black history before mass enslavement.

  10. The skills I learnt is how to use italics for more emphasis,acting techniques and the features of a play script.
    The book I learnt about is called ‘Coming to England’ and the author is Floella Benjamin.
    My favourite part of the week was when we found out where Trinidad and Tobago are and learnt their,cities,president and what countries are near it.

  11. In year 2 we read the book ” Come all you little persons”.
    The author is Jhon Agard.
    I like animal dressing up and lot of writing about animals. Halloween dressing up was so nice.

  12. In year 6 we learnt about the poem Talking Turkeys by Benjamin Zephaniah. My favourite part of project week was when we got to write our own poem a similar way that Benjamin Zephaniah does.

  13. Arifa learnt about the horrible soup, the story was called billy and the beast and fat cat, the author was Nadia Shireen. Arifa enjoyed making the horrible soup, she enjoyed cutting the ingredients with the knife to shape them

What I learned was poems.I also was learning about a poet whose name is Benjamin Zephaniah,he is very famous.Me and my class were learning about colloquials as it was to do with our poem.There was a bit of informal language in the stanzas of the poem but I also think the poem is brilliant.I used rhyming too.
    The poems my class and I had learnt about was Talking Turkeys,The British and We Refugees.And the author as I said at the beginning is Benjamin Zephaniah.
    My most faviorate part of the week was when I wrote my own poem about food and British Values mixed together.I absoulutely loved that !!!

    I learnt about the book Tomorrow, the author of the book was Nadine Kaddan.
    My favourite part of the project week was learning about the book Tomorrow.

    My favourite part of project week is using the VR headsets to find Jamaica and physical features of it.

  21. 1) A new skill I have learnt during project week was definitely looking at words and seeing different meanings. Benjamin Zephaniah uses this skill a lot in his poems. Also, I know the difference between an immagrant and a refugee.

    2) I learnt about talking turkeys by Benjamin Zephaniah. Talking turkeys is about how turkeys are murdered during Christmas and it isn’t fair.

    learning about Black history month
    and another favourite part of literacy figures week was
    learning to recite Talking Turkeys of by heart and preforming it to the class

  23. I learnt to use colloquialisms like Benjamin Zephaniah and how to write a poem in his style. We learnt talking turkeys and it had lots of poems.

  24. Wow, what a great record of some fantastic work . The quality of the video is fantastic! Well done to my wonderful English team( the dodgy character at the start is interesting!) and the children and teachers. Superb start to Autumn 2, now let’s really rock and make great progress.
