Phonics in Nursery

This term we are starting Phonics in Nursery! Phonics is a method of teaching reading by matching sounds to letters and groups of letters.

Please see below a letter for parents which aims to answer any questions about the teaching of Phonics at Primary school. However, if you do have any questions please do not hesitate to pop and see Mrs Langley.

Each day your child will learn a new sound. Every Friday, your child will bring home some phonics homework. The aim of this is to consolidate learning in school. We ask that this homework is completed by your child and returned to school by Wednesday. Again, if you have any questions please do ask.
