Today on the final day of Science project week children conducted experiments measuring their femur and the correlation between jumping either a shorter or further distance. Children found varying results but enjoyed competing for the furthest jump. We moved onto creating a healthy plate for an athlete and children understood the importance of particular food groups in enhancing an athletes performance. They included foods from protein, carbohydrates, fruits and vegetables, dairy and many more. Children moved onto learning all about another athlete named Mike Powell. Finally, they enjoyed a mindfulness afternoon benefiting mental health and peace including fun activities such as yoga, colouring and sculpting using play dough. What a fabulous week! 👏 😊 🧪 🧫 🧬 you have all been FANTASTIC scientists!!!
