Happy Health Week In 6 White!

The children in 6 White have enjoyed participating in Science Week. They were given the topic of the heart. Within this topic, they explored how we can keep our heart healthy. As part of the week, the children were asked to take part in a sponsored ‘Danceathon’. They were asked if they could kindly raise money for this, which the school will then share with a charity of the children’s choice. Whilst raising money and having a brilliant time, the children thought about the effect of exercise on our pulse rate. Additionally, the children learnt about first aid, and how they can identify and help in different first aid scenarios.

I enjoyed learning about first aid skills, this is crucial in our daily lives. We watched a few tutorials on CPR and bleeding. I learnt that CPR stands for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and that severe allergies lead to wheezing, vomiting and even hives!
That why we have epipens to relax the muscles in your airways to make breathing easier.

We also did the dance-a-thon, which was fun, but we must acknowledge we are doing this help a charity(of our choice) so I hope we raised a lot of money.
