The children have had such a fun Science week! We have participated in lots of different experiments and activities. Please have a look below at all of our super pictures and videos to see what we got up to!
What do you know about your body?
The children made first hand observations about their bodies, identified the basic parts of the human body, talked about how we are similar and different to our friends and used new vocabulary for body parts and even made our own song!
How do we use our 5 senses?
We explored the sense of touch, taste and smell with three different experiments. We also went on a walk around the school to explore our sense of hearing. We also had some visitors in school to talk about our sense of sight.
Do we need all five senses to play sport?
We took part in a range of sports activities and discussed which senses were needed to play the sport.
We explored different senses in PE. In golf, we played without touch, in football we played without sound and in skipping we played without our sight. We saw how valuable these senses are in these activities.
We also played some adapted sports. We played sitting volleyball, goal ball and boccia. These are activities that have been adapted so that people without certain senses can also take part. Here is what we did.
