Y2 – Sharing into Equal Groups

In Year 2, during our Maths lessons we have been learning about making equal groups. We have used our knowledge, resilience and teamwork to make equal groups. Children have worked in groups to share counters into equal groups.

Share 16 into 4 equal groups. How many in each group?

Share 22 into 2 equal groups. How many in each group?

Share 14 into 7 equal groups. How many in each group?

Share 12 into 2 equal groups. How many in each group?

    4 in each group to make 16 because if you put 16 in a array you can see there are 4 columns of 4 and 4 rows of 4.
    11 because 22 divide by 2 = 11.
    2 because 14 divide by 2 = 7.
    6 because 6 x 2 = 12.

    Challenge:
    6 x 3 = 18
    7 x 2 = 14
    1 x 8 = 8
    5 x 2 = 10
