In Year 2, during our Maths lessons we have been learning about making equal groups. We have used our knowledge, resilience and teamwork to make equal groups. Children have worked in groups to share counters into equal groups.

Have a go at the grouping activity below. Click on the link to practice sharing into equal groups.

Let’s practice sharing into equal groups by answering the questions below:

Share 16 into 4 equal groups. How many in each group?

Share 22 into 2 equal groups. How many in each group?

Share 14 into 7 equal groups. How many in each group?

Share 12 into 2 equal groups. How many in each group?

⭐️ Challenge ⭐️
Can you write the number calculations for these:

18 shared into 3 equal groups.
14 shared into 2 equal groups.
8 shared into 8 equal groups
10 shared into 5 equal groups.

4 in each group to make 16 because if you put 16 in a array you can see there are 4 columns of 4 and 4 rows of 4.
    11 because 22 divide by 2 = 11.
    2 because 14 divide by 2 = 7.
    6 because 6 x 2 = 12.

    Challenge:
    6 x 3 = 18
    7 x 2 = 14
    1 x 8 = 8
    5 x 2 = 10
