Week 1 – In Reception Red 🪔🎇🎆
This week we introduced our new topic of Fantastic Lights for this half term. We started the week by listening to a story about Diwali and how it is celebrated.



We developed our fine motor skills, gross motor skills and consolidated our knowledge of taught sounds.



















To write initial sounds in a Diwali party list.








Communication and Language – To listen to a Diwali story , ‘Dipal’s Diwali’ and talk about how it is celebrated.

To use 2D shapes to create a Rangoli pattern.





























Understanding of the world – To understand how Diwali is celebrated.








SMSC – Children In Need : To know why it’s important to help others.

I enjoyed colouring and making the fireworks thank you !
I enjoyed painting, colouring, making shapes and putting red rice on it.
I mean Different types of things
It was so much fun I learned lots of different types of school that was so fun
So much learning and lots of fun! Mikaeel enjoyed his week very much so.

Diwali was so fun to learn about, I liked the decorating with the colourful rice and pom-poms. Painting was fun too.
Kevin is happy to play with the children
I enjoyed making the fireworks with the paint and the rangoli patterns
