Our second Well-being Day of this year was all about Remembrance Day. We learned the history of World War One and why Remembrance Day is so important, both for the families of those who died in war and for soldiers and veterans living today.
We listened to the stories of some people who fought in World War Two and wrote letters to express our gratitude for their bravery and sacrifice.
We also discussed the symbolism of the poppy and made our own paper poppies, as well as decorating Remembrance Day poems and making our own mixed media artwork using water colours, pastels and paper cutouts.
Why is Remembrance Day such an important occasion?
Can you remember why we have a 2 minute silence at 11:00 am on the 11th of November?
