This half term, in our History lessons, we are learning about significant individuals (famous people). One very significant individual in our country was Queen Elizabeth II. She sadly died last year, but we would still like you to researh this amazing historic figure.

She is the only person who can declare and end the war.
She is the head of the Commonwealth and has made more than 200 trips to visit the Commonwealth countries.
She has nine thrones, six of which are in Buckingham Palace.

Telegram- is something that was used in the olden days when there were no mobile phones. It is a machine that prints out different messages to people from the person who has sent it.

I think the Queen used to send telegrams to people who reached 100 years old because she wanted to congratulate them. Also, some of the people might have been alive when the telegram was invented so it brings back memories of the olden days.

Princess Charlotte was born on the 2nd of May 2015. She is 7 years old.
She weighed 8 pounds and 3 ounces at birth.
Her full name is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, this remembers the names of her past family members.
She is third in line to the throne. This means after her dad and her brother.
She currently goes to Lambrook School in London with her two brothers.
