Year 5 healthy packed lunch reminder

Dear year 5 parents,

The year 5 team would like to remind you of the expectations regarding the children’s packed lunches. It is vital that when children attend school their bodies and minds are adequately fuelled for their lessons. Here at Broad Heath we pride ourselves on a wide, varied curriculum which provides opportunities for children to progress physically, socially and academically. We would therefore, like to request that parents bare this in mind when packing their child’s lunches. Ensuring that there is enough food for their children to eat and that the food they pack is of high nutritional value to support their learning.

We would like to encourage parents to ensure a range of foods are supplied within the packed lunches and that foods such as fruit are provided. Supporting us in this way will benefit your children’s learning and capacity to concentrate throughout the day.

All children are encouraged to bring a healthy snack such as fruit to school to be consumed at breaktime only.

Can we also request that child sized ‘treat foods’ such as crisps, chocolates etc be reserved for Friday only.

Thank you for your support.

The year 5 team.
