3 Red Explore the Wonders of The British Museum

Ancient Egypt

Our History topic this half term is based on Ancient Egypt and how early civilisation started in Egypt. What better way to learn than to have a real life experience. Today, Year 3 travelled back through 3,000 years of Egyptian history. They came face to face with statues and explored the Egyptian artefacts in The British Museum.
We entered the collection around 11000 BC-when the beginning of civilisation started, along the Nile. We could see artefacts from small farming communities, we continued along the Egyptian time line and observed mummified Egyptians and their tombs, statues of pharaohs, Kings and we even saw a section about the start of the first pyramid.

Watch our iMovie to see what we got up to.

What Egyptian artefacts did you find?

What was the process called when Egyptians wrapped bodies?

What was your favourite part of the trip?
