We had an amazing day at the British museum today. The children explored artefacts from ancient Egypt. They saw canonic jars, sculptures, jewellery, shoes, sarcophagi and even some real mummies! Children found this quite exciting. They saw so many wonderful things. Once we had explored the Egyptian galleries we had time to spare so we had a look at the Roman artefacts and saw amazing mosaics. We then saw items from the famous Sutton Hoo burial, remember this it will come in handy for Year 4! Children saw viking artefacts including an axe. We also explored the Islamic World exhibition where there were many beautiful objects on display here.
We had such a great day and I hope you enjoy the photos!
My questions to the children are:
what were your best bits?
What did you learn?
What was the most amazing thing you have seen today?
