The book “happy tank” helped me feel calm and relaxed. The best bits was when it explained happy tapping which really helped me focus and relax during my SATs. I recommend this book to any year 5 that is stressing out about SATs next year or anyone stressing out in general. 5 star book that really helped me.

In 3 White we discussed the book, children were able to tell me about the different activities they could do to top up their happy tanks. We discussed the happy tapping and practised this together. Many children found it calming.
We discussed how gratituded can make you feel and some children shared what they are greatful for:
Vanessa is greatful for having her brother
Hamida is greatful for having her baby sister
Adrian is greatful for coming to an amazing school
Rexford is greatful for his teachers and family
Maya is greatful for her family
Safwan is greatful for his great family
Eva T is greatful for both of her sisters
Safa is greatful for her siblings
Alya is greatful for Miss Redhead and Miss Jephcott
Eva is greatful for her parents and her guinea pigs
Rayan is greatful for his grandma and grandad
    Hisham is greatful for life
Arjun is greatful for his Uncle and Auntie
Hadiya is greatful for her whole life
Subodh is greatful for his wonderful mother
    Tinuola is greatful for everything
Mustafa is greatful for his house
Ebnzere is greatful for Miss Jephcott and Miss Redhead
Nabiha is greatful for having a baby sister
Ranj is greatful for the school, his friends and family
Yegor is greatful for his cats and kittens
Kitan is greatful for her baby cousin.

Completing this activity and saying out loud what we were greatful for made us feel happy, proud, and feel good about ourselves.
Thankyou John Magee for giving us great tips in this book!

I think the book ‘Happy Tank’ is a good book because it tells you how to be calm and all about your emotions. The most useful thing in the book is when it talks about breathing and if you are feeling stressful you can read the book to make you feel happy again. It was a great book to read.

I think that the happy tank is wonderful. It shows us different exercises on how to stay happy and calm. I liked the breathing exercises, because they made me feel calm and relaxed. I recommend trying the breathing exercises to stay relaxed and mindful. In the book it says “happiness is a choice,” and I agree because you do not need to be happy all the time. The book also says “the world would be boring if we were happy all the time and have no other emotions,” this is true as no one is perfect and doesn’t need to always be happy because it is okay to feel other emotions.

❤️My thoughts about the book is wonderful! It made me calm and happier! It makes me want to read it everyday and use the ideas that make you happy! The best parts for me are: breathing in and out and count to ten, do something mindful and having a jar or a glass then writing good things you did throughout the day and read them at the end. It teaches us to be happier in a fun and entertaining way! I will read it everyday. ❤️
