Sewage Soup in 5 Red with Warwickshire Wildlife Trust.

Today we had the pleasure of having someone come to visit Year 5 from the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust. Linked to our topic on rivers, we gained more knowledge on the effects of pollution that could end up in the rivers. We started off with a sewage soup game/experiment, where we added different ingredients that potentially harm our rivers to clean water, such as, soil, sand, salt, herbs (Representing leaves), vinegar (Representing acid rain) and soap (Eco for this experiment!). It started off clear and ended up looking very grim! Shocking how some of these ingredients can massively affect the rivers in the UK!

We then went outside to play a โ€˜Drain gameโ€™ where we looked at the drains within our school and used chalk to come up with our own slogan. WHAT WAS YOUR SLOGAN??

How can you help to reduce urban water pollution?
