    I made cupcakes with my grandma. Ingredients: 4 ounces sugar ,4 ounces of margarine ,4 ounces flour and two eggs.1. First I put butter in the mixing bowl then I add sugar in it . I mix the sugar and the butter together then I add the plain flour in it and eggs. Then I mix all the ingredients together.I put the mixture in the pastry cases with my grandma. Me and my grandma put my cup cakes in the oven.We made 20 cupcakes.

    How many different species of minibeast are found in the United Kingdom?
    There are 30,000 different species of minibeasts in the UK.

    Give 2 facts about millipedes
    Millipedes have long bodies and many legs.

    How are the skeletons of most minibeasts different to humans?
    Minibeast do not have bones, they have a shell outside of their body to protect them or their body is soft.

    Are caterpillar’s herbivores? How do you know? Give evidence from the text.
    Caterpillars are herbivores. I know this because the text says that caterpillar’s and millipedes mostly eat leaves.

    How are bees useful to humans?
    Bees are important to humans because they collect pollen from flowers to make honey. They also help pollinate flowers to grow.

    Why do slugs often try to hide?
    Slugs try to hide and camouflage themselves using plants. This is because they have soft bodies and predators can easily eat them if they don’t blend in with the plants.

    Use a dictionary to find the meaning of these words:

    • Environment means everything around us, such as land air or water.
    • Species means a group of living things that can mate with one another but not with those of other groups.
    • Pollen means the fine, yellow powder made by a flowering plant. When pollen is carried by the wind or by an insect to another plant of the same kind, it fertilizes that plant’s seeds.
    • Quantity means the amount or number of something.
    • Threatened having an uncertain chance of surviving into the future. Because so much of its habitat is lost, the species is now threatened and may soon become extinct. The people living in that region believe that their traditional way of life is threatened.

      Maths – I am going to make shortbread and I will write the recipe and instructions in my book.

        I made shortbread.
        1. Turn the oven on to number 5.
        2. Weigh 2oz of caster sugar and 4oz of butter. Mix them together.
        3. Weigh 6oz of flour and mix it together with your hands.
        4. Put the dough in the fridge for 20 minutes.
        5. Roll the dough and cut it into rectangles. Gently use the fork to put holes in it.
        6. Sprinkle sugar on top and put it in the oven for 20 minutes.
        7. Let them cool off and eat them.
