This Wednesday Broad Heath sent 2 teams made up of girls from year 5 and 6 to compete in the Coventry Schools Football competition. Both teams started off in the group stage in different groups and they had 5 matches to play. The team with the most wins in a group would go through to the final. The black shirt teams competed well but were not able to qualify for the next round. The blue shirts however won 4 and drew one so went through to the semi-finals with great confidence.
The team managed to qualify for the final, winning their next knock-out game 1-0. However, the came up against a very good Templar’s team who deservedly won the final.
The students really embodies the values of the school games. They competed hard, had fun and were gracious in both victory and defeat. Well done to all the children who took part.
